Someone told me I was writing couplets

A couplet is a unit of two lines in poetry that usually rhyme with each other and form a complete thought or phrase. Couplets often have a consistent rhythm and meter, and are commonly used in various forms of poetry, such as sonnets, ballads, and free verse.

My style of writing couplets is motivated by the style of a male lyricist named: Dolemite.  He recited adult lyrics that told a story and rhyme at the end of each sentence.  I found these couplets very entertaining and hope children will find their creative skills while portraying any of my age appropriate couplets or original stories.

Try it.  Writing couplets helps your mind create stories and rhymes that sometimes seem extremely genius.  It is a fun activity and exercises your mind.  Here is a couplet written for this blog:

Some couplets you read rhyme toward the end,

so each sentence you may want to read again.

The children couplets metaScreenPlays decided to write,

has morals to learn the difference between wrong and right.

Try it by yourself, sometime when you are free.

Let your thoughts roam free like a ship out at sea.
